Why resize images?
Every platform has an ideal size: Instagram square 1080×1080, Stories and Reels 1080×1920, YouTube thumbnails 1280×720, Facebook covers 851×315. Upload the wrong size and the platform crops it for you — sometimes cutting off a face or important text. This tool lets you choose exactly what to keep.
How to use it
- Choose or drop an image.
- Pick a platform size such as “Instagram 4:5” or “YouTube Thumbnail”.
- A crop frame appears with the right ratio — drag it to the area you want and adjust its size with the slider.
- Choose format and quality, then download.
- To resize without cropping, choose “Custom size” and enter width or height with aspect ratio locked.
Preset sizes

Platforms update their recommendations occasionally; these are the most common current sizes.
Tips
- Start with an image larger than the target; upscaling reduces sharpness.
- Keep key elements centered in YouTube and Facebook covers — edges are cropped on mobile.
- After resizing, run the image through our Image Compressor.
