Why compress images?

Large images are the number one cause of slow websites. They eat storage and mobile data, and many forms and platforms reject them. This tool reduces image size by up to 80% while keeping them visually almost identical to the original.

How to use it, step by step

  1. Drag and drop your images, click “Choose images”, or paste an image from the clipboard.
  2. Adjust Quality: 60–80% gives the best balance between size and sharpness.
  3. Optional: set a Max width (e.g. 1920 or 1200 px). Resizing is the single biggest size saver.
  4. Pick an Output format: WebP is usually smallest, JPG is the most compatible, PNG keeps transparency.
  5. Download each image or click “Download all”. If you change the settings, hit “Re-compress”.

Tips for the best results

  • Use JPG or WebP for photos, PNG or WebP for logos and graphics with transparency.
  • Website images rarely need to be wider than 1920 px.
  • Converting to JPG replaces transparent backgrounds with white.

Are my images safe?

Absolutely. The tool uses your browser’s Canvas API, so images are never uploaded. It even works offline once the page has loaded.

Frequently asked questions

Does compression reduce image quality?

At 70–80% quality the file shrinks dramatically with a difference that is barely visible. Lower values save more space with gradual loss of detail.

Which formats are supported?

JPG, PNG and WebP — and you can convert between them.

Is there a limit?

You can compress up to 20 images at once, up to 25 MB each.

Are my images uploaded?

No. All processing happens on your device; your images never leave your browser.
